The artists as model; the nature as main element to create;
the male body as a pure object of desire.
These are the focus of “Me_the art of body”, an exhibition of photography and “natural frames” by the Brazilian mates Jean Carlo and Zonda.
In series of images they search for a masculine identity, the own artists identities, a glance over sensuality and sexuality in a male body.
Jean Carlo undresses for Zonda’s camera and to his own in different moments and places: at the beach in Cascais, wearing ancient clothes in Alfama, with his mate’s underwear…
“I am not a professional photographer, but I like to dare. I let my creativity run free”, says Jean Carlo. Beyond taking self-portraits, he has created all the frames in his “earthly technique”, based in natural elements (sand, dried plants, shelves etc). He has developed this technique since mid 90’s and “Me” is his 7th exhibition in Portugal.
“In some of my photos Jean appears like an ‘object´, I mean someone without a clear identity, a kind of flesh and bones mannequin”, says Zonda.
The vernissage of “Me” happens on Nov 10th at bar 7imo from 8pm to midnight.
